Chris's good friend Joel Momper and his wife Erica had their first little one about a month after Mark was born. We got to meet precious Colette on our way back from New Jersey. She is a beauty!!

Mark is already 2 months old!!
The past 2 months have flown by! I cannot believe little Mark is already 2 months old!! He's coo-ing, smiling, and laughing more and more very day. He had his first smile on April 14th (more than a month ago now!). The past few days I've noticed him batting at his toys that dangle from his play mat--- you would have thought he'd conquered world peace--- I got out the video camera, tried to call Chris and we've told pretty much everyone we've come in contact with since!! He's had a lot of "firsts" during the month of May.... I'm going to try to document several of them in the following pictures....
First "silly face" -- This picture is especially for Mark's cousins, Olivia, Annabella and Calvin. When Mark gets a bit older, he'll be able to do silly faces with you on the webcam :-)
First time meeting the lunch ladies at Timothy Christian school.

The Arrival of Mark Alan Harrington: 3-27-09
it was a great experience!!

Mark's First Picture
Mark Alan Harrington was born on March 27th, 2009. He weighed 7lb 15oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Fun fact: Two days before Mark was born Chris looked up online various foods that encourage labor. The night I went into labor we feasted on 2 of those foods: eggplant parm and pineapple... yum :-) Apparently they are pretty effective... especially considering I was a week and a half early!!
Baby Showers
3-15-09 Powerhouse Tea Party Shower
Lindzey Gray and Olivia Lin blessed us greatly by throwing us a baby shower. We all had a lot of fun-- celebrating with games, gifts, and delicious food...yum! Both Harrington and Hanlon sisters and moms were able to make it to the shower. Most of our friends at the shower guessed we were having a boy. Who would have thought only 13 days later we would find out they were right!!

Baby Shower in Richmond
While in Richmond over Valentine's Day Weekend, the Harrington (and Pfeil) ladies surprised me with a lovely tea party baby shower. I was very surprised and very blessed by them!
Thank you all for the many wonderful gifts and the thoughtful preparation you put into the shower!
Papa and Ross are working hard trying to "guess the mess" in the diapers. (really...the messes are various candy bars!)

Sarah and the Kids visit Twinsburg
Sarah, Olivia, Annabella, and Calvin came to visit Chris and I in Twinsburg last Tues and Wed, Feb 24th and 25th. Sarah spoke at Club JV (the middle school youth group Chris and I help out with) about Japan. We had a great time making homemade calzones, playing Settlers of Catan, visiting a playground, and eating at Chick Fil-A. It was a very special two days!!

Christmas in Ohio
Christmas was at the Harrington apartment this year. My family came to celebrate with us. We didn't take many pictures documenting the festivities, but the days were filled with fun - games, food, shopping, laughing, preparing a nursery, buying a car, and lots of wii!!!
Our Christmas festivities began with the traditional Club JV Christmas Party.
The following pics are some of the highlights....

Why the name "Drinking From Our Saucer"?
The full phrase is "I'm drinking from my saucer because my cup is overflowing." It came from Chris's grandmother who would say it when she would get overwhelmed with her blessings. Through the years the phrase has been shortened to "I'm drinking from my saucer!" We thought it was a perfect fit for a blog that documented God's many blessings to us.
