Nursery Beginnings

Mom and Dad Hanlon brought our nursery furniture when they came out for Christmas. We had a blast putting the nursery together. Mom and I began to register at Babies 'R Us and she treated us to some nursery decor starters... thanks mom!!

Buying a Car

We said "farewell" to our '92 Honda Accord and "Hello" to an '05 Nissan.
(Our first car purchase as a married couple!)

Our new buggy -- the car which will drive our baby home from the hospital!!

Note: it may be cheesy to include this post on our blog;
however, we did spare you all the pics of us signing the papers :-)

Christmas in Ohio

Christmas was at the Harrington apartment this year. My family came to celebrate with us. We didn't take many pictures documenting the festivities, but the days were filled with fun - games, food, shopping, laughing, preparing a nursery, buying a car, and lots of wii!!!

Mom surprised us with a stocking for baby H. On Christmas morning, baby H was not left out-- It was a great time of celebrating this much anticipated little one!

Our Christmas festivities began with the traditional Club JV Christmas Party.
The following pics are some of the highlights....

Frank's fantastic gingerbread house.

Winners of the bobbing for candy canes contest (2nd year champs).

Dan's final Club JV Christmas... we'll miss you!!

Chris and I cut down our Christmas tree the following weekend.
Unfortunately, we forgot the camera during the picking process,
but here is its unveiling in our apartment.
It's a beauty!!  :-)

We had a great time searching for a Christmas Tree---

20 Week Ultrasound (or 2nd Photo Shoot)

Today we got to witness an hour in the life of Baby Harrington.  Wow!! -- not only did we get the good news that baby H is healthy, we also observed how lively he/she is!!  (That's right...he/she... we resisted the urge to find out the gender of this darling little one.)  Here are the snapshots from today's photo shoot.  Enjoy!!

Who do you think Baby H looks like?

Beautiful Feet!!

16 Weeks!!

Baby Harrington is 16 weeks in the making today!! Praise the Lord!!  We wanted to update you with a new belly bump shot.  Our next doctors apt. is November 5th.  In the meantime, we pray, wait, dream, and schedule our next ultrasound :-)  Also, we thought you all might enjoy this 3D image of baby in the womb... courtesy of 3Dpregnancy.com.

14 Weeks!!!

This past Sunday, baby Harrington reached the 14th week mark!!  We went to the doctor for our check up on Thursday and heard the heart beat for the first time... how exciting!  Dr. Usis found the magical tempo right away and instantly announced the beat was a strong one :-)

Highlights of baby's progress...
-fingerprints have now formed
-he/she can now suck their thumb
-he/she is about 3.5 inches long (or about the length of a flip phone)

Baby H is definitely starting to make his/her presence known through my baby bump....although I'm fairly certain to the unknowing observer it just looks like I'm packing on a few pounds in the central area :-)

Our Prayer for Baby Harrington

Feet - We pray that this baby has 2 feet and 10 little toes, and will use them to go where  the  Lord wants it to go.

Hands - 2 little hands and 10 fingers to use to serve the Lord

Heart - A strong physical heart and a strong spiritual heart that loves its Maker

Mind - A mind that can learn the difference between right and wrong and will be used to     learn about his/her Savior

Eyes - Perfectly formed to see the beauty of creation and see the need of those around him/her

Ears - That will take the time to listen to the concerns of others and can hear the still small voice of God

11 weeks!!

We are now 11 weeks along...Praise the Lord!!  We go back to the doctor on October 2nd (Dad Hanlon's B-day!).  From what I understand, we will be hearing the heartbeat that visit...but no pictures :-(   Here is an excerpt from a pregnancy calendar on the baby's progress....

"Your baby continues to grow and is now approximately the size of a large lime! The crown-to-rump length of your developing child is 1.75 to 2.4 inches. The weight of the fetus is approximately 8 grams at this point. The growth of your baby is phenomenal now and your baby's length will double in the next three weeks. The head is grossly out of proportion and is almost half of the baby's length. At the size of a plumb, your baby is now able to swallow. The urinary system functions. The baby swallows and urinates the amniotic fluid and the fluid is continually replaced. The baby is kicking but the mother cannot feel it yet. All vital organs are formed and, for the most part, function normally. From now on, they will grow in size and efficiency. "

As an update on me... no pregnancy bump yet!

9 Week Doctor's Visit

Chris and I (and baby H) went to the doctor for our first official OB visit.  We are so excited with the news of a healthy little one!!  We're still praying that the Lord will perfectly form and protect this baby until it's delivered, but for today... we were reassured :-) We saw the baby's heart beat, its little arms, and we saw it move!!! It was awesome!!  We were informed that it is approximately 1 inch in length --- which is pretty tiny, but it's been doing a lot of growing since my last visit 1 1/2 weeks ago....it was about 1 cm then!!!  We received several photos of the ultrasound (or as Chris puts it.... our baby's first photoshoot!!) Enjoy!!

Why the name "Drinking From Our Saucer"?

The full phrase is "I'm drinking from my saucer because my cup is overflowing." It came from Chris's grandmother who would say it when she would get overwhelmed with her blessings. Through the years the phrase has been shortened to "I'm drinking from my saucer!" We thought it was a perfect fit for a blog that documented God's many blessings to us.
